Transportation

Cherokee County has a good network of federal and state highways and is close to Interstate 59, which runs north of the county line and Interstate 20 which runs 40 minutes to the south of the county line. The county's transportation system also includes a new regional airport that has a 5,500 foot long runway. Cherokee County is within 2 ½ hours from the International Intermodal Center in Huntsville, and close to Norfolk Southern intermodal rail facilities in Alabama and Georgia.
