The Cherokee County School System has developed and continues to foster educational programs that are producing results. In 2009, Cedar Bluff School was named one of "America's Best High Schools by U.S. News and World Report. This designation is given to schools that successfully provide educational opportunities for all students and is based in part by school test results, college preparedness programs, and performance of disadvantaged students.
Technology
The Cherokee County School System is using technology to improve educational opportunities for students in the county. In the 2006-07 school year, the Cherokee County School System was chosen for a pilot program for the Handheld Initiative, a joint project between Microsoft and Innovative Speech Solutions. Additionally, the schools have implemented interactive Smart Boards, one of the latest educational tools.
